Marquis Companies Raises $31,000 for the American Heart Association

Team Totals More Than 1,200 Walkers making Marquis the Third Largest Team in the Nation

Marquis Companies, a skilled nursing, assisted living and home health care company recently entered a team of more than 1,200 walkers in the American Heart Associations (AHA) Start! Heart Walk making them the largest team in Portland and the third largest in the nation. The event took place on May 16th with race participants walking 3 miles along the Vera Katz Eastbank Esplanade in Portland, Ore. for a total of 70,000 miles walked. 

The Marquis group was made up of team captains and support administrators that lead each of the individual teams during the walk and fundraising efforts. A few highlights from this group of team leaders and participants include:
•    Andy Angobung of the Rheem Valley Facility finished the race with the most steps - 853,627.

•    Team Leader Maggie Clemence of the Marquis Care at Forest Grove facility had the largest team with 182 total members.

•    The “We Got the (Heart) Beat” team raised the most money of any Marquis team totaling $7,666.

•    Team Member and heart attack survivor, Scott Miller raised the most money, ringing in at a total of $2,723.

•    The team that enrolled the most residents was the Forest Grove Vital Viking with 62 residents on their team.

•    The team captain that raised the most money was Kylie Evenhaus.  As a team, the Piedmont Pacers raised $4,175.
